As you bike down from the crater of the volcano, dormant since 1790, you will pass stunning vistas. From the Sunrise Protea Farm, past Haleakala Ranch, down through Kula, through the historic cowboy town of Makawao, past many pineapple fields, ending in the quaint town of Paia.

Sunrise Journey
The Sunrise Journey is our most popular bicycle tour. Your tour begins at the House of the Sun Visitor Center where you enjoy hot coffee, juice and pastries and receive a comprehensive safety briefing. Certified tour guides provide you with a history of Haleakala, its geology and an explanation of rare plants and animals only found on Maui. You are then escorted by your mountain guides to the rim of the crater to view sunrise at 10,000 feet. Following sunrise you will be expertly fitted to your bicycle and begin you 38-mile bike ride down the slopes of Haleakala - the worlds largest dormant volcano. Along the way your tour guides will make several stops pointing out scenic points of interest. Breakfast in the historic town of Makawao is included followed by a walking tour of this 1900 vintage upcountry community. The ride of a lifetime continues down to the Pacific Ocean ending at Baldwin Beach in Paia. Included are round trip transportation, Columbia Sportswear windbreaker pants and jacket, gloves, helmet and state-of-the-art volcano chrome cruiser bikes.

Day Journey
Your Day Journey begins at the summit of Haleakala and ends 38 miles later at Baldwin Beach in Paia. Tours of the House of the Sun Visitors Center and Haleakala Visitor Center are included. Your guides will explain the history and geology of Haleakala along with facts about lunch at Sunrise Market and Protea Flower Farm. Round trip transportation, continental breakfast at the summit, Columbia Sportswear windbreaker pants and jacket, gloves, helmet and state of the art volcano chrome cruiser bikes are included.

7:00 - 7:30 a.m. Pick-up time

Mid-Day Journey
This tour starts later in the day and includes round trip transportation, Columbia Sportswear pants and jacket, gloves, helmet and state of the art volcano cruiser bikes. Tours of the House of the Sun Visitor Center and Haleakala Visitor Center are also included. Food is not included, however we will stop at Sunrise Market and Protea Farm for a no host lunch. This is not an abbreviated tour - you will bike 38 miles from the summit of Haleakala to the Sea. Expect to return to your hotel at approximately 5:00 p.m.

National Park Tour

Our National Park tour is 21 miles of biking starting at the Summitt of Haleakala and ending at Sunrise Market and Flower Farm in Kula. Clients booking this tour will meet at Starbucks Coffee in the Maui Market Place (Kahului) at 8:00 a.m. We will provide round trip transportation, Worksman bicycles, Columbia Sportswear pants and jacket, gloves and helmets, Tours of the House of the Sun Visitor Center and Haleakala Visitor Center are also included. Expect to return to Starbucks at 1:00 p.m.

Self-paced with Van Tour

Self-paced tours are longer than any other unguided tour on the island (30 miles). The $69.95 tour includes a van tour of the National Park along with 30 miles of biking at your own comfortable pace. Following your tour of the House of the Sun Visitor Center and Haleakala Visitor Center you will bike from 7,000 feet elevation and end at Baldwin Beach in Paia. Clients meet our tour guides at Starbucks Coffee in the Maui Market Place (Kahului) at 8:00 a.m. Transportation to the summit, lunch at Sunrise Market and Protea Farm, 27 speed Marin mountain bikes, helmet, Columbia Sportswear windbreaker pants and jacket, gloves and backpacks are provided. Upon completion of your bike ride, shuttle service back to Starbucks Coffee will be provided. Departure times from Baldwin Beach are 1:00, 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00 p.m. Riders arriving Paia after 3:00 p.m. will be charged a $20.00 per person pick-up fee.
